HandsOn San Diego is dedicated to connecting volunteers to meaningful opportunities with nonprofit partners throughout our region. Projects managed by HandsOn are flexibly scheduled to allow even the busiest volunteers to make a difference. Volunteers have an easy sign-up process and can trust that the projects are well managed through the HandsOn technology and team.
Nonprofits are able to find high caliber volunteers and receive extra support from the HandsOn team to help projects. HandsOn volunteering opportunities cover a wide range of impact areas across all of San Diego. Members are encouraged to find their passions through volunteering as well as explore leadership opportunities as a Lead Volunteer.
For military personnel who are transplants to San Diego, volunteering is a great way to connect with the San Diego community and meet civilians. HandsOn has a large network of active military personnel and veterans who volunteer. They also have several initiatives with veteran-specific organizations to encourage veterans to volunteer as a way to gain professional skills outside of their military experience.
Started in 2014, HandsOn has helped thousands of San Diegans connect to meaningful volunteer opportunities. As an affiliate of the HandsOn Network, they contribute to the largest volunteer management network in the nation. HandsOn is a fiscally sponsored project of Mission Edge, and has been able to access our operational and administrative services so they can focus on growth.
“We are a small team. Without the help of Mission Edge, we would not be able to be as impactful or efficient. They allow us to focus on the programming and less on day-to-day operations.”
- Lucy Lu, Programs and Operations Manager at HandsOn San Diego
